Contact Lens Fitting & Evaluation
Contact Lenses are classified as medical devices which means you will need a current contact lens prescription from your doctor in order to buy them. Our doctors provide services that are specific to the wearing and fitting of contact lenses, making sure we find the right lenses for your eyes.
If you wear or would like to wear contact lenses, be sure to let us know when you schedule your appointment. In addition to your regular eye exam, our doctors will also perform a separate contact lens fitting and evaluation which includes the measurement of the size and shape of the cornea, and an evaluation of the contact lens on the eye. We will also evaluate any health conditions that may affect the comfort of your lens as well as determine the best type of contact lens according to your preference and lifestyle. If necessary insertion and removal instructions will also be addressed.
Can I Use my Glasses Prescription to Buy Contact Lenses?
A glasses prescription cannot be used as a substitute to a contact lens fitting and evaluation or prescription as they are both very different. Improper fitting contacts can cause damage to the eyes such as irritation, corneal scratches, poor vision, and many more.
