Tallmadge Family Eye Care is proud to be a family-owned, independent optometry practice. TFEC serves the local community of Tallmadge and surrounding areas of Akron, Kent, Stow, Hudson, and Mogadore, including staff and students from two major universities, plus patients from local care facilities.

TFEC is the hidden gem of Tallmadge and with a motivated, enthusiastic optician, all of Northeast Ohio can learn how great it is. Tallmadge Family Eye Care is seeking a full-time optician to add to our team.
The ideal candidate would be:
Independent, responsible, and self-motivated.
Enthusiastic about the optical field and comfortable working with a variety of patients.
A good communicator, motivated to learn the latest lens designs and be able to inform patients on products.
A strong salesperson, with a background in retail and/or healthcare.
Detail-oriented, passionate about customer service and patient satisfaction.
Additional qualifications:
Frame fitting and adjusting skills are preferred.
ABO certification can be obtained after on the job training.
Experience with EMR is preferred.
Able to interpret prescriptions and recommend products to patients
Some responsibilities would include (but are not limited to) the following:
Assisting patients in frame and lens selection.
Dispensing eyewear.
Managing inventory and meeting with frame reps.
Optical merchandising.
Organizing trunk shows and sales.
Fitting and repairing eyewear.
Answering phones.
Scheduling patient appointments.
Providing great customer service.
Managing lens packages and pricing.
Health insurance, Vision, and paid time off are benefits of full-time employment. On the job training is available for dispensing optician certification and licensure.
