Costume Ideas & an Invitation

TFEC's #TealPumpkinProject trick or treat is back! The Teal Pumpkin Project works to provide family-friendly, allergy free trick or treat events nationwide. The Teal Pumpkin Project is an organization that we are proud to partner with on Halloween, because our family members have life threatening allergies.

We think every child should be able to experience fun events without risk, and every parent should be able to enjoy watching their child grow without the stress and anxiety that an accidental allergic interaction can have.

Join us!

Join us on October 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for Teal Pumpkin Trick or Treat! Stop in any time for allergy free candy, toys, coloring pages, and check-in via Facebook to get a TFEC swag bag! Don't forget to wear your costumes!

You'll still have time after the event to attend Beggar's Night and the City of Tallmadge's Halloween Dance Party.

Costume Ideas

Sometimes, wearing glasses can kill your vibe. Contacts can be a good option, but can be uncomfortable, difficult to wear, and if they are cosmetic or Halloween contacts, dangerous. (Protip: If you want to wear contact lenses with your costume--and you currently don't wear any--schedule a fitting now to make sure you have a comfortable pair in time for Halloween.) The best way to dive in to Halloween is to incorporate your glasses into your Halloween costume.

Here are a few easy costume ideas you can do at home that show off your awesome frames:

1. Clark Kent/Kara Danvers mid-transformation.

Put a Superman shirt under dress clothes. Go save the world.

2. Sadness from Inside Out

Blue hair and fun glasses is all you need to be Sadness. A pouty face might help too. Complete the look with a sweater and some jeans and you'll be cozy all night.

3. Fortnite Skins

Go as a character from this year's most popular video game. All the kids will know what's up and most parents will be very confused. Check out Sleuth or Gumshoe for costumes that feature glasses. Don't be surprised if someone compliments your Inspector Gadget outfit. Just show them your dance moves and set 'em straight.

4. Ruth Bader Ginsburg

What does it take to be the Notorious RBG for a night? A black sweater, white collar, hair in a bun, and a take-no-prisoners attitude. Or go the casual version with a sweatshirt and hand weights. Just don't forget the big earrings.
